About

WHO ARE WE?
Bharat Memorial Charitable Trust (BMCT, registered in the year 1997 in Panchkula, Haryana) has been providing scholarships to meritorious students in various professional fields. Additionally, it also organises medical camps, cricket matches, startup micro loans (seed funds) to young entrepreneurs, supporting homes for the homeless and financing artificial limbs.
NeeV, a learning centre for the under-served, is a programme run under BMCT, conceptualised and launched on September 27, 2007 with the intent of focusing our energies and resources at the very initial stage of an individual’s growth. Hence the name, NeeV, the foundation. Economic liberalization in India has bypassed the under-served due to lack of education, good health and vocational training. We strive to provide the same in a happy, caring and stimulating environment to help them identify their true potential and find their place under the sun.
Presently catering to the underprivileged population of the ‘Millennium City’, we hope to spread this initiative to other parts of the country as well.
Overview
CHIEF FUNCTIONARIES
Dr Shalini Malhotra – Founder Director
She holds a doctorate in Environmental Studies and started this initiative with the belief that educating children and helping them grow to understand and appreciate their environment was as important as working on its conservation. Coming from a family which has been successfully targeting the same goalpost for the last many years, this route was almost an obvious choice. Also, being a believer of the importance of good health in helping one realize ones dreams, she included health facilities as a part of the project. She considers herself to be truly blessed to be able to come across people with similar ideologies and walk along with them as NeeV Team towards a common goal of education and good health for all.
Ms Sadhna Lal – Opeartions Head
She is a software professional, who worked with various MNCs for many years, left the comfort of her air-conditioned cabin to work towards providing similar opportunities to these lovely children. Her joining the NeeV team was a huge turning point in the success of this organization, with her organizational skills and effectively forcing all to follow suit. Taking up the most difficult challenge of getting them through NIOS while providing appropriate vocational training and career counseling, she has been working relentlessly to achieve the same.
